Dear Muskegon neighbors,
As you may have read in the newspaper or from a flier distributed by Allied Waste, the free curbside recycling in the city of Muskegon will be ended as of July 31st. If you want curbside recycling, you now must sign up with Allied Waste for a fee of $42 per year (very reasonable). For uninterupted service, do this before Friday July 17. Here are several ways you can sign up:
As of today Allied Waste needs 150 more families to sign up citywide by July 17th. If there aren’t 500 citywide the service will likely be terminated. All the Neighobrhood associations are trying to help. We can do this!
It is free to transport recyclables to Port City Boulevard Recycling Center, but they have limited hours, more limited things that can be recycled and the items have to be sorted.
Thanks you in advance for your support.
