It can be tricky getting close to these early morning ice formations on the Muskegon River. If you can manage to do it without inadvertently joining a one-man “polar bear club”, they are really fun to check out.

The Muskegon Farmer’s Market is still awfully cold and quiet, but it won’t be for much longer. It will be wonderful to see everyone back for another season of great friends and food.
The sign at the old Elks Club on Muskegon’s Ottawa Avenue is rarely left on when the club is closed. But, this morning it was blazing away with the red lights lighting up everything around it.
A little tree next to Froebel School on the south side of Muskegon’s Jackson Hill area.
It was tricky holding the camera steady in such low-light while, at the same time, keeping the dog from running onto the wonderfully fresh snow.
This is a little railroad bridge that can be seen from the Lakeshore Bike Trail. If you’re heading north, it’s visible as you pass over the South Branch of the Muskegon River just before you come to the B.C. Cobb plant.
